Pierogi Party
I hung out with the Polish crew yesterday and all of us made pierogi's (which is a fried sauerkraut or potato dumpling with fried onions on top). It was a production line assembly and all were expected to help (or you didn't get to sample taste any pierogi's).

The Polish vodka was opened and shots were handed out to everyone (+10 Poles, a German, an Irish/Welsh, a few "Heinz 22s" and a Mexican). When the vodka was polish-ed off (sorry, couldn't resist), the tequila was brought out (remember we had a Mexican).

Shake 'em all up...

and some get out of hand!

Descanso Webcam
This is a shot from a webcam in the hills of Descanso, which is about 7 miles northeast (give or take) of where Pony lives. I check it everyday and WOW, what a beautiful shot we have today!

Horsethief Canyon
Under threatening skies JJ, Koda, and I went hiking in Horsethief Canyon, which is about 30 miles east of San Diego (near Alpine, CA). We both knew it would be a perfect day to hike as typically when the weathercast in San Diego calls for heavy rain (with snow down to 3K) that means partly cloudy with occasional light spitting rain in selected locations. We layered up, grabbed the camera, water bottle, and other basic essentials (including some carrots for pony which we planned to see afterword) and away we went.

This area burned a couple of years back and you can really see the new growth. It is amazing how nature bounces back from disasters.

We let Koda off the leash (a big deal in our house!) and she was so happy!

Inappropriate Ads or Personal Censorship?
As noted in PDNPulse, by Daryl Lang, Mountain Bike Action magazine rejected three new print ads for Titus Cycles, presumably for their racy content.
Now before you look at the "racy content" be aware that Roland Hinz, president of Hi-Torque Publications, which owns Mountain Bike Action is a Prop 8 supporter and gave $$ to help keep those evil gays from getting married in California.

Move over Annie (the other Annie)
Another celebrity (potentially) turn photographer:
According to Miley Cyrus, "That's what I want to do with my life," referencing Annie Leibovitz's chosen profession. "I would love to be a photographer. She was amazing and so talented and her lighting... I would love to work with her again. But I realize I'm just a kid."
Well, I'm sure she will automatically move to the head of the line once she buys her first pro camera (any bets on if it will be film?) and undoubtedly receive top praises for her "artistic vision."

Mr. Groper
This gets filed under Creepy & Perverted (or Chester the Molester). Who's the Perv? Why that's Georgia senator Saxby Chambliss. Watch Chambliss's hand during the campaign ad.
